I’m recently back from a long weekend in Key West, Florida. I got to walk around the town for several hours one day, and it is definitely a unique experience if you’ve never visited before. There is a heavily commercialized element to a lot of the island, but it’s juxtaposed with historic neighborhoods and a distinctly Caribbean flavor of art an architecture. Just snapping pictures here and there you get elements of that dichotomy that tell an interesting story.

I was trying to get a couple shots of the “postcard” mural on the side of this popular lunch stand when one of the locals road past on their bicycle. It wasn’t planned in this instance, but I like photos like this that hint at a larger narrative and which can create visual interest and make you ask more questions about a scene.
